Does anyone know how the geometry (vane position) of the turbo in our S cars changes with respect to RPMs?

For example, is there a certain RPM where the vanes shift position or do they continually adjust. And, is the position a factor of anything other than RPM? Like oil temperature etc.?

Thanks,
Fliz

Thanks for the refs folks!

I'm trying to understand how this all works to help figure out what could be causing some of the sounds I hear in my car. Seems like a tall order given how much is going on in these engines!
