Most of the wheel cleaners I've seen mentioned in here are for cleaning wheels when washing the whole car. I have 20" Carrera S wheels and I'd like to be able to wipe them down on a daily basis while the car is warming up.

Any suggestions or favorites?

Thanks

You warm it up that long? I only give it a minute or so and then drive off.

Optimum Opti-clean; Griot’s Rinseless wash-wax diluted 15:1; Optimum ONR diluted to QD at 16:1. Any of these will do a good job.
Those are mainly detail and waterless sprays, correct? I was concerned about them sealing any brake dust onto the wheels.

I have a bottle of Aero Cosmetics Wash Wax All (I used to use Adam'ss on my SLK, but read good things about it in here) coming for frequent wipe down on the body of the car. Do you think I can use this diluted down to 15:1 or so?

718s - yes, I like to let it warm up to 194º, but if I'm in a hurry, I at least wait until the choke comes off. It's a habit my father instilled in me, and was the only way he'd ever let me take his cars out.

Doing a proper initial cleaning and using something like a ceramic coating will help keep the wheels cleaner for longer. Just know, every time you touch or wipe your wheels you can potentially scratch them. Most wheels aren't as sensitive as paint is (unless the wheels are painted), but the risk exists. So, daily whiping could do more harm than good in the long run. The less you touch them (and your paint) the better.

I've watched a lot of professional detailing videos on YouTube. I particularly like AMMO NYC.

I have an airplane, and Wash Wax All is pretty much the gold standard. So I use the same on the wheels of both our 718s.

WashWax All Blue does a great job. Red is a good degreaser, but I find blue is strong enough. Stay clear of the purple -- it's very, very strong and is designed to take exhaust stains from leaded avgas off an airplane belly that's been heated to quite a temperature. I shudder to think what WashWax Purple would do to a car.

But, the Blue is just great for wheels. See pic attached...

Not waterless but the best tool for cleaning wheels I’ve ever used, quick and effective

I would also suggest ceramic coating your rims. I had mine ceramic coated and use Griots, and IMO it's a blessing. Brake dust does not cake on and comes right off when sprayed with griots or just water. Cleaning my rims only takes me 15 minutes.

Anyone use Sonax? Fast, eco-friendly. Spray on and hose-off. Works well.

Acid-free, pH balanced formula is safe on all wheels and won't damage wheels. Safe on various wheel finishes including: Chrome, Aluminum, Steel, Clear Coated, PVD, Painted, Plastic Wheel Covers, Magnesium, AND Aftermarket Wheels. Watch the color changing activate when it comes in contact with the ferrous metals (iron) from brake dust or other dirt and grime. Full Effect sprays on fluorescent yellow, then turns deep red or purple as it dissolves brake dust. The advanced and effective chemistry in Full Effect wheel cleaner attaches and emulsifies stubborn baked on brake dust. Simply spray on, let it dwell, watch for color change, agitate if necessary, and rinse with water. For best results rinse using high pressure water. Full Effect is great for both the DIY (do-it-yourself) and the professional. Effortlessly achieve shining wheels that will make your vehicle look like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Full Effect needs to be used on cool and dry wheels. Product is ready to use, do not dilute with water. *Use caution when applying this product to anodized wheels and brake systems - test in an inconspicuous area prior to use. Use Sonax Wheel Cleaner to safely clean dirt and brake dust on hard to reach wheel barrels and calipers, too.
