I did my annual Watkins Glen track day with the NER PCA club just over a week ago. It was a three day event with perfect weather all three days! This is my favorite track that I get to go to all year. Here is a video of one of my sessions. It includes my best time of the weekend, a 2:25.7.

Very cool, and a great track. What tires and brake pads are you running? Stock brake fluid?

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on 19" wheels. I have a set specifically for the track, so they don't get used for my daily driving.

As for brakes, they are completely stock pads, rotors and brake fluid. I've never had an issue with them.

Great stuff Russel (y)
WGI is one of my favorite tracks too.
We get down there every year in June for 2 days.

Would love to do a 3day!
Does NEC do an event every year at this time?
If so, I'll definitely look into it next year.

I'm like the kid sitting on the edge of the pool watching all the kool kids. Waiting on car delivery (pre-owned 2018) hoping dealer delivers by Friday. Previous owner's a member of Monticello Motor Club, NY. Car was on track there one day in May. Watching the video - AMAZING! Clearly instruction is in order. I'm in N.H., if anyone has suggestion. I saw Apex Driving Events, but again I'm DAY ONE! Car's equipped with TECHART springs, H&R spacers, & GIAC tuning. So, excited and cautious at same time.

Yes, NER does this event every year on or about this time (within a week or so). It is always a three day event as well. :) There are several 718s showing up to the events now - so the more the merrier!

My 'race' experience consists of a citation 46 in a 30 zone, 5-years ago. I know I'm menace to society. Is there instruction available as part of this event? The Apex link I viewed yesterday, has their car/your car events w/instruction.

Look for the NER PCA club. They do events in NH at Tamworth - https://porschenet.com/activities/driver-education/

Excellent! Got to tell ya, asked a couple questions in here and truly impressed w/how quickly members respond. I grateful!
Hey Chief, if you are new to running on a track, the PCA HPDEs are a wonderful way to build the skill set you will need to keep the shiny side up. Just completed my second weekend of the KYPCA's HPDE at Putnam Park Race Course in Indiana and added several important track skills to my repertoire. Just a thought. Don't know your experience level but you are definitely getting into a track-prepped car. They are pretty darn fun off the track too, you know.

Hooked on Driving does a 3 day there every October. It was last Friday Saturday and Sunday this year.
