Hi. Two days studied the forum. I liked the atmosphere. She was very friendly. A real family. Noticed a lot in common from the owners of 718. I was wondering who does what. I think that many will be similar profession:) Write in the comments where someone works or what kind of business;). I am an expert in computers ( designer and security specialist)

Me too.... or was (IT analyst, Big Data specialist). I early-retired to become a full-time musician and dog-sitter (we have 5 at home). Now I like to analyze the 9A2B4 engine architecture. And take it on test drives for field research....

What country are you in Volkov?

I love 9A2B4 and 9A2B6. Now I live in Russia. Maybe move to Norway. You did the tuning software engine? It's your hobby or work with Porsche?)

I may be somewhat of an outlier: Managing Editor in advertising/marketing at a large fashion retailer. Before that, I was in journalism for nearly two decades as a content/copy editor, city guru, visual art writer, and rock music critic.

These days I play with my four grandkids, five British cars and the Cayman Owner's Manual.

I probably do not fit the group in this discussion. But I have an appreciation for well, designed things. ( watches, cars). I have two Rolex's that are 40 and 30 years old( my wife bought them new for me. There's been some maintenance costs, but I just appreciate manufacturing quality. I think this is very similar to my appreciation for my 718CS. The design and quality of manufacture are topnotch and I am going to drive this car to the ground. I won't track it, just enjoy driving it. And along the way I accept that there will be some maintenance costs. 350hp out of a 2.5L 4pot requires some maintenance.

Actually, I have my dream job as of the last few months. I sell Porsche's in Arizona! I'm not from the automotive industry. I'm previously from the Professional Hair care Industry from the time I was 17. I was in distribution and representation. My position prior to getting involved in automotive was a brand manager for an Italian hair care company for the US and Canada. I traveled nonstop for work. I met my beautiful wife, got married, had a baby, then got off the road. Travel was no longer fun when you have a family waiting for you at home. I worked with Audi for almost 2 years, got the experience I needed to catch a gig with Porsche. Now, I'm living the dream... I obviously don't make nearly as much as most of you on this forum, but I get to see my daughter everyday, lay next to my wife every night, and look forward to going to work everyday. I am a fortunate man!

Well money aint the most important thing in life!
I earn fairly good and I can adjust my hours for my own needs, without the last bit I would not do what do.
My family are the most important thing I have.

The most important rule for me is that I don't bring my job home!

I am a trademark/copyright attorney in Los Angeles. I guess that I fall within the "spectrum", being an attorney and living in LA. But this isn't a midlife crisis car for me. I have always had sporty coupes with manual transmissions, with the 5-year exception of my Maxima when I had very young kids, but in my defense, even it was a 6MT. My 718C was the next step in a logical progression.

For the last 20+ years I have read Car & Driver and Automobile magazines monthly, devouring each issue completely, almost as quickly as they arrived. One thing that I have noticed is that since I ordered my 718C, I have been less interested in reading any car magazines, unless there is an article specifically about the 718.

In the mists of antiquity I worked at Boeing in mechanical engineering and aerodynamics (wind tunnel and engine test facilities then flight manuals). My main thing overlapping and following that was 40 years owning and operating an apartment complex, now sold. At the same time there were about 10 years in police work. I'm retired now. And just coming off 16 years with a BMW M3 as an enthusiast car, no prior experience with Porsche and very much enjoying it. Interesting to hear backgrounds and experiences!

Hmmm ...

I think @TheLip 's post might be a good-enough reason to start the next megathread:

What cars did you own previous to your 718?

Workin' on that now ... ;P
