One of my brothers (I won't say which one but he was born on the same day I was) likes to play games such as naming his phone's wifi "FBI surveillance van" just to make his co-workers nervous. Maybe that was a police car and maybe it wasn't!

I actually drive my 718 Cayman to the office today! I've been working from home but had to pick up a replacement part. So a co-worker who has had the office all to himself prepared a curbside pickup of an electronic component. (Thanks, K.) It was great taking the Porsche out for a real run today.

It might have so, the phone only sees access points so either it was a car with wifi or a phone thats open for tethering.
For a brief moment i had a car behind me that had almost all the signs for an unmarked police car behind me.

A 25 mile jaunt and a stop at the grocery store for some ice cream. Felt great to get out and row some gears.

Well, not my 718S exactly, i had noticed on the Macan the rear brakes were gloss black, but the front were bare metal and looked average (first pic), so made them glossy black, 2 hours total work and love the results (pic 2 and 3).

Can do... used a plastic shopping bag, to cover rotor, thin plastic sheet to cover car and under wheel arch and garage floor, masking tape on certain parts of calliper (bleed valance cover, back of brake pad area).

Spray brake calliper with brake degreaser, used a stiff plastic brush to clean all parts of calliper, then used isopropyl alcohol as final spray on a micro fibre ensuring all grime had gone.

Used dupli-colour brake calliper gloss black in a rattle can, did 6 coats of colour, the first so light it barely coloured metal, about 10 mins between coats, used a blower vac to blow air onto area to help dry quickly, plus I live in a very warm area, so 10 mins was touch dry, then placed new Porsche stickers on. Then 4 coats of clear lacquer using same method as above.

I think the solution to success is prep work first, then multi light layers of the paint, it’s thick paint as far as aerosol goes, but had no runs. Make sure paint is dry before laying down the decals, or you can get bleeding onto them. Any other questions at one has just ask and I’ll try to answer! Had also previously re clear coated my 718S brakes making them all red again...

I’ve been told the level of insanity rises with our Boxster, as hanging upside down like a bat from a partially opened ragtop is part of the equation. My days playing human origami with a wrench are long gone (e.g. promised my bride no more gear box cleaning in the bathtub, frame off’s hogging the garage, etc.) so I get to defer to a trusted specialist. 😎
