I've always been fascinated by how long I can own a car and not use a specific feature, or touch a certain button. In some cases I've owned a car for years and literally never touched some buttons or levers (except for occasional cleaning).

What's in your car that you've never used?

I'll start. I've only owned my car for 6 months, but so far I've never used:
  • Headlight switch. It was in "Auto" when I picked up the car and haven't touched it since.
  • Windshield wiper stalk.
  • Cruise control stalk.

totally Agree on cruise, I never see the need for me tbh.
With previous cars I would, we have huge stretches of speed limited roadworks which normally works well but with this I do not for some reason.

Satellite radio - generally despite the lousy audio quality (I have my media on SD cards or have mixed CDs (which I use in my older car)

the Speed limiter settings

Auto Stop-Start; on the highway I'll switch it on for cylinder deactivation - looks like when you're above 2,500 rpm it doesn't kick on (such as higher speeds on interstate)
I've seen MPG average 26.5 (US gallons, not Imperial) - not bad for an engine that is < 2,000 miles. So far MPG has range 18 - 26.5, depending on where and conditions I'm driving.
The sound in 3 cyl mode isn't as pronounced as it was when the GPFs were still in place - it was really noticeable before.

I don't use the cruise control during the run-in miles. Just tried it out briefly to get familiar with setting / changing the settings

I only run headlights in Auto for multiple stops when the ambient light (afternoon / evening) is low; multiple "cold fire" for Xenons shorten bulb life
- since the "easy way" of changing bulbs requires removing the front fender liner (9 bolts) vs. removing the bumper cover (more bolts, a pair of clips, three electrical connectors and the supply line to the headlight washer systems)

(i.e. backing out of garage during daylight or driving under underpasses would trigger un-necessary on / off cycles)

Auto start/stop, pure trash and shouldn't be installed on anything.
Windshield wipers, remove them as I think they look ugly.
Cup holders, yeah right, those thin pieces of plastic over my dash and seats, not happening.

Feature I want removed is the dang blower motor coming on every time I start the car up. That's very annoying.

lane change assist
ASS
headlight washers (on purpose.)
speed warning

I use cruise control a lot but mostly in-town to make sure I don’t have to donate to the local constabulary.

For the Macan and the upcoming Spyder
NO 1: Auto Start Stop on red light. Never used it even once in 4 year and will never use it
no 2: Headlights can't remember touching that button
no 3: AM FM radio haven't touched it since before Covid always on Sirius dont ask why I don't know

Will not use on the Spyder plus those above
  • Headlight washer. I don't plan on using windshield washer. I never had headlight washer and I am not spraying that liquid on the Spyder.
  • Speed warning (if the Spyder has that, I will not use it as I always know how fast I'm driving)

Hi, if I understand correctly. Rain = No Driving for you! Even a good probability of rain...

you'd probably want to periodically operate the washers (maybe when washing) since the washer fluid can dry up and clog the nozzles - and when you need it to work, it won't

Auto Stop Start, I don't even think about it, just push button as soon as I start the car. I also don't use the auto headlight option, I like turning the lights on manually when I want.

The biggest thing I don't use now is Sports mode as my car has Sports Chrono and prefer to d my own throttle blip, so I just drive in normal mode now. If I could disable throttle blip, I would drive in Sport mode more.

I did the hack to enable car wifi, the sports chrono app, and navigation.

... and then I never use them cause I use Android Auto instead.

I never touch the auto stop/start button because that feature is disabled in Sport mode. I never disable the anti-lock/skid feature. I rarely operate the rear spoiler manually. Never use Sirius radio or the CD/DVD player. I'm sure there are other things but since I never use them I've forgotten about them.

Cylinder Deactivation - never used it and never want to. I paid for six of them for a reason
I let it do the cylinder deactivation once on a highway trip to see if it improved my mileage. It didn't... not enough that I could notice, anyway. And it sounded horrible. Never again.

I forgot this thing had a CD player  I don't even own any CDs to try it with.

with the OEM Over Axle Pipes - it sounds...strange. A low loud hum that sounds "off" and makes a lot of resonance in the cabin (Cayman body)
