I was also hoping to price a T out on the U.S. configurator, but use the U.K webpage out of curiosity. Difficult to get an idea of pricing since it is in £££ and converting to $$$ probably wouldn’t be entirely accurate . Maybe it’s more oriented to the European market, as the Carrera T was supposedly geared towards the U.S market. Who knows.

I think a total of around 2000 Carrera T’s were built with over 900 going to the U.S and less than 100 for Canada.

I've heard some rumors the T just won't be offered in the US because of the somewhat low demand for the 718. I have no knowledge if it is true but given how long it has been since the 718 T was been announced and what little I have seen specific to an offering in the US, it is looking likely to me it will be a no-show..

Also curious about why US website not updated with new colors and models.
My Dealer speculated that US may get 982.2 after GT4 is out. Total guess.
Dealer has no 2019 allocations left, no info on any 2020 Boxster/Caymans.
Curious.
How about ditching the 4T and bring back the 6. Demand will skyrocket.
Not bloody likely.

Would it though? I suspect most of the people who complain about the 4T vs 6 are not in the market to buy a Porsche.

Personally I much prefer the 4T over my previous 987 6. It is so much more usable on the street. With the 6 you had to get it over 4,000 before anything exciting happened. With the 4T it is exciting from the word go.

Good point. I should have said 6T from VW. They make numerous 6 cyl Turbos that Porsche can work their magic on.
My 987.2 CS also lacks torque but but keeping it in Sport mode helps.
BTW, my guess is that a lot of peeps would trade in their 4T for a 6T especially considering the 982 chassis with that much more thrust.
All I know is that dealers are not getting cars and trying to move all the Cayman/Boxters they can.
So what exactly is in the pipeline?

Does VW have other flat 6 power plants in their stable besides the Porsche variants? I doubt they would put a V or an inline in one of their sports cars. Even the 4T is still a boxer flat.

I think if your a track junkie the GT4 would be awesome, I haven't had one person who has heard my CGTS complain about the sound . Maybe there's a small difference between the base and s gts engine sound. I would love it for them to go back to all nat flat 6's . I would have a really special car. European emission standards are only getting worse. So there will be no flat 6 in the regular cayman 718's Have you heard the new 911 with the new particulate filters . Our flat 4 sounds better. I can only imagine what the the T and new 718's will sound like with that new filter

I find it interesting that Porsche sales reports show the 718 sales being down for the year and I think last year as well but the reality is that many people report here and on other forums that they can't get an allocation to get one built. I went through that myself. So, maybe sales are down for the 718 only because Porsche isn't making enough if them to fulfill the demand. That gives the 6cyl purists proof that no one wants the 4T but maybe, just maybe, they are wrong!
Just pondering...
