He! Thank you all for the nice comments. We were able to pack all our camping gear in the Cayman because we've had practice in a Triumph GT6 and a Triumph Spitfire. We even took a screen house with rain fly but never set it up because there were no bugs to speak of and no rain in the forecast.

(We've been going to this campground for 20 years so they know us. The owner asked if he could drive it. I said sure, but he backed down. Then he asked how the ground clearance did on his campground roads. It actually did quite well.)

Lately we've been driving out to Great Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary and spending an hour and a half walking around the marsh. Then we go back to the car, have some lunch, and go out again.

Having lunch with the gang:

Oh, about the snow on the car. It's all gone now but we're supposed to get more tonight.

The first thing I thought when looking at the picture was moto camping.

I've done a lot of traveling on motorcycles. If one can pack for a multi-week trip on a motorcycle, the Cayman is enormous in comparison.

All kidding aside, I bet the storage space is similar. If you're not using roof racks.

Ah the cupholders. The only time I can really use them is stationary, otherwise they spill contents on all the buttons below!
Ah, the cup holders. My dealer warned me not to drive with a coffee cup on the cup holder because I'd spill the coffee. However those bleacher creatures often ride in the cup holders but have to move when we eat lunch.

So what about all the rest of you??? Surely you take interesting trip (to places other than your local track). A great car is for goin' places, and that's what it's all about, isn't it?

We wanna' see how you use your 718! With pics too!

We love camping but have a dedicated 4WD for those activities, the 718 wouldn’t get far off-road here. We do live on acreage and have an unsealed driveway which keeps the car constantly dirty though.

"What other interesting activities have you done with your 718?"

-----------------------------------------------------

We drove our Cayman up the side of a mountain on a dirt rode to get to a cousin's hippy wedding in Vermont last Summer.

Our 718 adventures started with we picked the car up in Atlanta and drove it back to NJ.

We've also done a bunch of PCA road rallies and Porsche cruises here in NJ.

And we participated in the NNJR-PCA Porsche 70th Anniversary at the MetLife Stadium. Here's a drone photo taken at the Anniversary at Stadium here in NJ. My white 718 Porsche Cayman is next to the red asterisk (look carefully....you'll see it). In fact if you look real carefully, you'll see three guys standing near the front of it. One of them is me and one of them is my buddy Mark who brought his 996.

Looks like fun! Too bad about the bird droppings. Oh wait, that just a smudge on the camera lens. Never mind.

Nice pic. Better clean that thing off though or Porsche2018 is going to have to spend some frequent-flyer miles cleaning your car off too!

We really enjoy travelling in the Cayman and especially visiting state and national parks. This was a day trip a couple of hours away from home, We had just finished lunch and packing up the picnic gear when I took this photo. It was about 50F but sunny with calm winds so not too bad.
