Anyone else experiencing a lot of wind noise when the windows are closed? It gets pretty loud at highway speeds. Super distracting at anything over 75. Any ideas how to minimize it, or better yet eliminate it?

Maybe the door fitting/fitment is a bit off ?(where the door windows touch the inner door rubber) Personally no such experience with the 718's I got to testdrive.

Mine (base Cayman) has a lot of tire noise....I'm not really getting wind noise.

Yes, I get wind noise as well at high speeds with the windows up.

It may be your rear window / hatch isn’t closed completely tight or flush.
When you open the hatch there are two small plastic bungs in each corner that can be adjusted by turning them to give a looser or more tighter fit of the hatch.
May only need half a turn.
Or one of them may be set at different level to the other.

Tyre noise is all I hear, it is not a quiet vehicle like the Cayenne but I don’t expect it to be.

I do a lot of motorway journeys often north of 75mph and can report zero wind noise. Lots of tyre roar dependent on surface type but definitely no wind noise

I get it in my GTS... it’s from my side window starts around 70mph.. it’s very slight, so feel no need to book it in , although I don’t do a lot of motorway driving,. Would be nice to hear what the solution is.

Do you guys have ppf on your mirrors? That can have an effect on the wind noise. I had the ppf on one of my mirrors redone, since it gave a horrible wind noise at speed. The film was replaced and the new film goes all the way to the small gutter in the mirror now.

See this post in another thread, in which the OP says PPF on the mirrors was the cause. (Points, @GGG !)

The OP hasn't posted since November; he's definitely an infrequent visitor. (Nothing wrong with that, of course. )

I did spray-on PPF on my mirrors with the hope that this would be a non-issue. Turns out, no excessive wind noise. Rest of the car though, has PPF done the old fashioned way.

Cayman 718 GTS 4.0 - getting a 'whistle' that starts between 70 and 80mph. Driving me insane. Hard to localise; think it's coming from the rear of the car. Dealer not helpful - anyone found a resolution?

I have the same issue Cayman wind noise around 70+ I also have PPF I have noise on both windows. I turned in my mirrors to see if the noise would change but it did not change at all. Will mention it to my dealer when it goes in for its first service. Had this with my Audi TT was hoping to be rid of this issue guess not.

only noise i'm getting is wind buffeting. ordered AWE diffusers to hopefully help with this. on my next drive i'll see if there's any noise at higher speeds since i play my music loud!

I took delivery of my GTS last week. Just running in but also noticed the high pitched wind noise around the back of the car. No PPF installed yet. I have read elsewhere that the GT4s had a similar noise related to the oil separator filter, this has since been redesigned and GT4s recalled. This may or may not be the same thing.

Something must be wrong with your window seal. There is enough road and engine noise, that I don't hear any wind noise with windows up at highway speed.

Could be the rear spoiler out of alignment. I’ve just adjusted mine and the whistling noise has gone.
There’s a couple of posts on the forum explaining how to do it. Takes about 30 mins
