What are the recommended procedures for storing your 718 for the winter?

If for ~ 3 months +/-, I would do and have done the following;

1. Full tank of gas to avoid moisture accumulating in the gas tank
2. Battery tender
3. My personal preference: wash & wax and car cover
4. Make sure tires are properly inflated; winter tire saver ramps are not indicated for the 3 month storage and I probably would need to store the car for 6 months to feel the need to use them.
5. Depending upon where you live you may want to place something in the exhaust pipes to keep critters out but just remember to remove it when the hibernation is concluded.
6. Oh yeh, a security camera so you can check on the car if your cars winter nap is part of intended travels.

Do you recommend adding any fuel stabilizer?

Are all battery tenders the same?

What’s the proper tire pressure for winter storage?

Here is a real complete check list that may be useful and answer most of your questions. Regarding battery Tender I use the Porsche one and for my other cars I use the Battery Tender Plus. I don't think there is much difference (aside from price) between each of them but others my have different preferences like CTEK.

PS: this list is a little overboard......for 3 months I didn't change the oil, I didn't use a fuel stabilizer, no way on item 12 (not stinking up my cars), and item #19 is a tad obsessive.

This may be a dumb question but what's the best way to install a battery tender?

Wish I had seen this list one day earlier. My Cayman went in its bubble Thursday and I didn't even think and set the parking brake. Do I need to go back in and release it? Will it free up easily come spring?
Thanks!

Funny, me too! I literally read this last night and pulled off the cover 10 minutes ago to release the parking brake and put it in gear. Better safe than sorry.

My thoughts also. That's my next task for today.

How many months total will it be in storage?
It's going to be 5 months almost, 1/2 of November through probably 1/2 of April. I got in the bubble today and unset the parking brake so no worries anymore.

I’ve been Winter storing my cars for over a decade in CT. Sometimes I use Stabil sometimes I don’t. Never noticed a difference.

For a tender, I think the easiest is just a CTEK 4.3(?) plugged into the cigarette/12v outlet. Seems to be working fine so far.

I try to keep my garage vermin free. Don’t leave piles of rags around or anything that might make a welcoming home. I have a some traps laid out also. So far, so good.
