Looks fine. Bt I'd look at TireRack as you could probably get a set there for a lot less. I got mine from TireRack and it's been perfect for two winters, and cost at least $1000 less than that.

I have them for my Cayman. They came with Pirelli Sottozero tires, which are N-spec. They aren’t summers of course, but the dry handling is surprisingly good. Bought them strictly for cold temperatures, so I have no weather driving to report. I imagine they’d be just fine.

And because they’re Porsche wheels, there are zero fitment issues.

My plan would be to run summers for most of the year, but swap them out for these rather than leave the car in the garage from November through February. I'm only looking for dry pavement traction in cold temps (no snow) that the summer tires just don't have.

A word of caution: Winter tires have a temperature range, just as Extreme High Performance Summer Tires do.

I wouldn’t trust them if there is a chance to hit temperatures in the low 70’s.

I lived in Norway and made the mistake to keep my winter tires on over the summer. During a ‘heat wave’ of 71F, I skidded through an intersection, went through a roundabout (they paint them there, no curb) and stopped on the other side.

This is the quandary living in Houston, we get cold winter nights (below 40F) which is bad for summer tires, but we can get 80F Christmas.

We have the same problem in Charleston. I decided years ago to leave summer tires on my sports cars all year round, and to exercise extreme caution on those rare times I have to drive in near freezing temperatures.

We have pretty well defined seasons here. Temps are typically in the 20's-40's December through February (and get down to the single digits at times), and 50s and above the rest of the year. Summer tire traction is good to great during the latter period, but is noticeably poor during the former.

I do the same as @DriveInHouston and @antennahead : leave summers on all year and prance about gingerly in temps below 40F or so. (I'm in Dallas.)
@Third, If you're sure you won't need freezing precip traction, maybe a semi-aggressive A/S tire would be a better choice? Just throwing that out there ...

That's what I do. I went with the 18s for winter (my summers are 19), but I think 19s would be fine too. Just depends on which tire you prefer. I think the 19" OEM winter set has Michelins, which may have different dry performance.

I've bought many winter tires for many car makes. All car manufacturers suggested narrower tires for winter tires. This is the first time I see a manufacturer (Porsche) recommend the same width like the Extreme Summer Performance tires (235 F/265 R). In other cars for example the recommendation was 215 for summer/205 for winter.

Strange!

Here's what I've decided to go with for this winter. The wheels are from TireRack - Sport Edition Cup 4. These are actually manufactured for TireRack in China, but have a excellent reviews.

Here's an image of them on a boxster that I found on the TireRack website.

I'm having them installed next week and will post pics.
I saw those as well. Looking forward to seeing your pics. Thanks in advance!

In the end I bought stock rims removed from a 2014 981 Cayman (19" Cayman S III) and mounted N-Spec Michelin Alpin PA4's. Couldn't be happier. (Note the 718 TPMS doesn't use the same pressure sensor as the 981-gen cars.)

Finally got these installed today. Was going to have the install done back in August, but that was way too early for Winter Tires/Wheels. First impressions are that the wheels are great quality, I had an opportunity to inspect them before they went on and these are fantastic, nice build quality and great finish! They look fantastic on the car.

I had the tires/wheels installed at Radial Tire in Silver Spring Maryland, can't recommend this shop enough, they were great to work with and their service is top notch.

How are you liking the Alpins on 19”? Looking to get those myself. Worried about sidewall size.

No issues with the sidewall size at all. Radial Tire was great to work with and if you live in the area I highly recommend them. I'm actually overdue for putting them on this year, I need to call Radial Tire and make an appointment. I didn't realize it when I made the purchase, but they perform the winter/summer swap for free, and also inspect and balance both winter and summer set each time before swapping them. If I can answer any other questions, let me know.

Thank you!

I just got 19” with the Alpins in the mail from
Tire Rack. Eager to put them on and try them out. Thanks for the recommendation.
