Hi All,

I am about to get my Carrara white CGTS. As you know, all GTS already come with many black accents. I never wrapped any of my cars before (partially or totally). I chose my Cayman in Carrara white with the idea to probably wrap the roof in carbon fiber (faux carbon fiber of course).
then, I saw the other day a beautiful Carrara white 911 with the option Electric Slide/Tilt Sunroof in Glass. It gives a wonderful black accent to the roof and it makes it look less like a totally white egg. I also see some of you posting pictures with carbon fiber items (spoiler, side mirrors, front spoilers, etc.). I tend to like that as well. But I don't want to get to a point where I added to much ...

In the beginning, I started whit the idea of wrapping in carbon fiber: the roof, the side mirrors, the black plastic on the front bumper (including the bottom lips that comes with the GTS model)... and maybe the rear spoiler if its not to much.
I called a guy that was referred to me as the one having the contracts with the Ferrari an Rolls-Royce dealers to do their wrapping. He is known to work very well and his prices are cheap (when you don't go thru the dealer...).He told me that wrapping the roof with gloss black would look much nicer, since carbon fiber looks better on smaller surfaces. He also suggests that i wrap the side mirrors with gloss black instead of carbon fiber.. he said he simply prefers gloss black over carbon fiber. The black accents on my car are satin black.

I don't mind having the roof wrapped in gloss black. But I am wondering if it would look nice if on top of that my side mirrors, the black plastic on the front bumper and MAYBE the black portions of the front spoiler would be wrapped in carbon fiber.

Or should I simply leave the car as is... Is the carbon fiber look outdated since it is easily available (wrapping is cheap compare to the real carbon fiber...). I haven't seen any posts about wrapping a 718 on this Forum and I am not sure anymore if this is a good idea.

It is clear to me that I don't want to wrap the roof in carbon fiber anymore. If I do the roof it will be in gloss black.

So here are the options I would like you to help me with:

a) simply leave the car as is;
b) wrapping in gloss black the roof;
c) wrapping in gloss black the roof and the side mirrors;
d) wrapping in gloss black the roof;
wrapping in carbon fiber the side mirrors, black plastic on the front bumper and rear spoiler
e) wrapping in gloss black the roof and the side mirrors
wrapping in carbon fiber the black plastic on the front bumper and rear spoiler
f) options d or e but without the rear spoiler;
g) any other suggestions.

Before taking a final decision, I would like to get your ideas.

Thank you in advance.

If it were me I would take delivery of the car and see how you feel after a couple of weeks. The other thing I would want is to see what the gloss black wrap looks like on a car. Does your installer have any cars that he has done that black wrap on that are comparable? The other big factor which you appear to have covered is the quality of the installer, and many have commented on this before but this is not time to hunt for a bargain.
Again, I would need to see pictures but I would go with option "c" and then decide if you want to wrap any other areas. Good luck and post pictures if you go with the wrap.

+1 on option C.

It's just me and not to offend, but I'm not a big fan of the carbon fiber look.

Good luck with whatever route you choose and please post some pics when done.

I start to like option C as well ... and then see if I want to add more. I am no longer sure if I want Carbon fiber. As for the quality of the installer, he's the best one around. I saw what he did on the 488 GTB of a friend and on a Rolls-Royce of a client and its all very impressive.

Thank you very much for your comments! Very appreciated!

I was considering having the rear spoiler painted black, along with the door handles from factory on my white Cayman, in the end just had the handles black as the spoiler didn’t show up on the configurator too well.

Since taking delivery, I like the door handles (several people have commented on those too) and I’ve just purchased some carbon vinyl for £6 on Amazon, I’m going to try wrapping the spoiler myself! - I’ve watched many YouTube videos and it doesn’t look too difficult, worst case is I throw it in the bin and lose £6 so thought it was worth a go! :)

Just wondering if anyone has done any vinyl wrapping of their car parts such as the spolier, handles or roof, either in black or carbon?

I do like the black roofs you see on some 911s and I was thinking maybe wrapping the black plastic parts on the front of my GTS to add some protection. Either in plain black or carbon. Anyone know if it would stick?

I was told the 3m vinyl wrap doesn't stick very well to plastic parts.

I just saw a cs with something that looks like a glass imitation wrap which looks awesome
See the attached pic posted by m2dar2 on instagram IMO It upgrades by far all white caymans
Im waiting for my cayman t in white delivery in march April and intend in the future to seriously look into such a roof wrap if I locate a reliable and professional shop that can do it

I'd like to see how it looks. Has anyone done a roof wrap in black/carbon? Personally, I think it would best on a muted body color (silver, black, agate grey). Not gonna spend my money on it, but it would be interesting to see!
