AFIK, the only difference is that sport exhaust became standard in 2018 (or was it 2019). Prior to that it was an option.

i consider it a must have, pretty sure started in 2018

 

IMO don’t buy the 718 without PSE. Chrono is a must too.

 

My BS (with Chrono) lacks PSE. Sure wish it had PSE (and PTV)...yet I’ve never heard anyone criticize its growl and most comments are glowingly positive.

The bottom line is I appreciate its sound more and more each and every drive.

 

I received my 2017 718 Boxster in July 2016. One of the first in Southern CA. The early ones like mine do not have a USB port in the center small console between the seats. This limits some things you can do with it. If you want Apple Car Play or some other electronics I think it is much harder to put on the very early models.

 

On 2017 the turbo actuator have the tendency to overheat.
Not so much of an issue if you dont tune your car.
Big enough of a problem for Porsche to know about, and doing nothing about it.........

 

What's the benefit to PSE? I thought it just sounded louder at the expense of another (15?) several pounds.
