I've seen lots of very helpful posts on DIY oil change for various 718's but most are older or for MT cars. I understand that the oil filter is very difficult to remove in the newer PDK Boxsters. But before I give up and shell out the $$ for a dealer or Indy shop to do, I thought I would ask if anyone can walk me thru the process specific for my '21 Boxster S PDK.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

I use a set of race ramps to get the rear of the car up 10 inches. I also jack up the front wheels and install a 10-inch race ramp cribs under the front tires. Using two hydraulic jacks on the front jack points makes the job easy going up 5 inches on each side then the additional five on each side. I have a 4-inch hole cut into the factory undercarriage cover with a seal plug that snaps into the cover when finished so draining the oil is easy without removing the cover. Removal of the oil filter going thru the left wheel well isn't very difficult if you take your time. The whole job takes about 1 hour or so start to finish. Good Luck.

You don't have to remove the wheel to get to the filter. There is enough room to remove and install the filter and housing. Just take your time. Install the hose on the nipple so the oil from the filter goes into your catch pan and you will be fine. Good luck, let us know how it worked out for you.
