Agree the Burmester is awesome. So glad I added to my 2019 CGTS build against the strong objections of my SA. I use downloaded Spotify songs in the highest bitrate and they sound great and play them via Android Auto which a regular poster activated for me.
This is why everyone should take the advisement of SAs with a grain of salt. Many of them are just pushing their own personal preferences onto customers under the guise of their supposed "expertise". Although I personally place a low priority on music quality in my cars, I can understand when others do and would thus appreciate the Burmester system.

if you see my new photos, youd see why i got Burmester. It's a posh 718 T build, fancy dancy prancing pony style. So burmester made sense as all of my goth ladies and I use this to drive around and check out stuff, weekly trips to see things and woods or clubs, and always they are doing the music thing while i drive. Note, that the main lady i hang out with is a full time DJ and club runner type. so this will make her chipper when she sits in it :D

I just put it on Pure Sound. Live is more exciting but it is less accurate in ways, still very nice for its uses.

Pure sound, car off, soft top up, and a strange Annie Lennox Christmas CD i grabbed to test it. HOLY POOP. It's insane. I mean, it better be fore $4600 or whatever it was, but yes it is insanely good. Boxster has a lot of sound insulation I noticed.

Yeah, I saw your pictures post. I have a red over black 718 that I bought CPO so I'm envisous of many of the liberties you took on the leather and stitching upgrades. Everyone uses their car differently and you spec'd yours for you, not the next owner so props to you.

I was told extra sound insulation comes with the Burmester. Explains the extra cost.😃

Maybe I'm the idiot but for my Cayman I don't intend on getting either system.

As long as the stock stereo is loud enough for me to listen to my audio books while the windows are up I'm happy. The other 90% of the time I'll just listen to the engine.
My sentiments exactly. I almost never turn the car stereo on.

Boxster's soft top add a lot to the sound "insulation" . It helps to deaden echoes .

I remember before getting my CGTS 4.0, I had two BGTS 4.0s that I test drove (they brought both out as the first they brought out for me to test drive had a flat tire) One had Burmester, and the other Bose. Listened to the same songs back to back and Burmester sounded like it was worth the upgrade. Bose sounded like a "I can live with it" kinda base system cars come with that you still have to spend $1k on.

Good decision...the Bose absolutely sucks.
Here we go again.

Objectively, the Bose does not "suck". It's not as good as Burmester. Surprise!

But it most definitely does not "suck" in any reasonable sense. It's perfectly adequate as long as your expectations aren't the level of your typical Star Wars fan.

the base SPP should work fine for what your intended uses are with speech recordings - and a way to save on the build costs

I am not a high end crazy fan but still think Bose sucks.
It's merely acceptable and I don't want anything else just to have some music sometimes without ear fatigue by the highs or over emphasized boomy bass.

Now I am going to replace the terrible tweeters with the Burmester ones. I hope it will be better
