I haven’t ever driven a GT3. I own a gts 4.0. I get my kicks and thrills mainly via engine sound. I need the high pitch scream, not necessarily the speed. From utube mainly, since I haven’t experienced live, I guess a 458 or LFA is my benchmark. Unless my appreciation of life, I’d bee riding one of those heavy screaming sport motorcycle’s. Those of you that have driven both, how much more “scream” will i get from the gt3.
savageese say the gts 4.0 is 75% of whar you get from the gt3, engine sound wise.
your thoughts and opinions?

GT3 has a rawer sound compared to most Boxer engines, and it is rpm heaven.
My take on GT4 vs GT3 was that engine plus sound was more then 25% difference.
GT3 is so much more, i did not really got my head around the grip it had.
So after 15 min i did noticed that it also sounded awesome.

I dont think i ever will get to chance to try a GT4 RS, there you will have even more engine noise.
Hopefully on of my Porsche friends get one 😁

I've driven a couple different versions of the 991 GT3 and also the GT4 at Atlanta Motorsports Park. The GT3 is a lot more of everything and is an amazing track car. The GT4 feels smaller, slower, and friendlier. If you gave me a choice of any car to drive on the track, it would be a GT3, and the Ferrari 458 would be my second choice. The GT4 would be my third pick. That's cost being no object of course.

It's important to recognize that the racetrack and street are different use cases. Any of Radical's sports racing cars would be a blast on the track and miserable on the street. Earlier this year, writing for the U. S. magazine Excellence, Johannes van Overbeek sampled a number of GT3s. His conclusion was that the latest GT3s were wonderful on the racetrack, but felt big and bulky on the road, where the earlier GT3s were not quite as capable on the track but were more satisfying on the road.

The thing to remember about all the GT Porsches is that they are biased towards the race track. A Cayman GT4 is a terrific street car that does very well on the street and the racetrack. What you have is wonderful. If you want more sound from the engine, perhaps an aftermarket exhaust system is in order.

Yes personally I don’t like tracking my cars. I prefer the twisty roads. My car is therefore a street car and not for the track. Interesting observations. Aftermarket exhaust would be a good idea except it won’t pass the annual DOT test in my country and also jeopardizes the warranty and my car is new and I plan to extend the warranty as long as i have it.
