Of course wherever youre going with that electric there had better be a backline waiting since there's no room for an amp or pedalboard. Unless you try to get a Blues JR in the frunk, I haven't tried that (yet)...

I could fit my clubs in the Miata if I removed the driver and put that in first followed by the bag. Doesn't work with the boxster but my wife doesn't play golf so the bag rides in the passenger seat.

 

A Miata won't fit in the Cayman's trunk or frunk.

I measured the frunk and think that my new Tone Master Deluxe Reverb amp will fit with room for other things. I'm going to try the SG12 case in the trunk later.

 

I just confirmed my SG12 will not fit in the trunk in the Gibson USA case. Maybe in a gig bag. I need to get one for my Martin D45V and D12-28 if I ever want to take them somewhere in the Boxster. I have to get Rich to help try the amp in the Frunk.

 

I don’t have a 718 Boxster but I do have a 987. I, personally, would be hesitant to put a decent guitar, particularly an acoustic, in the rear trunk considering it gets pretty warm, pretty quickly. It’s where I put takeout when I want it to stay warm for the drive home.

Dogs and guitars are what a 911 is for, IMO.

ps...I do have some junky guitars specifically for hostile environments.

 

You know, I hadn't considered the heat in the trunk. That is a deal breaker. I wonder if a remote meat thermometer could tell us how bad it gets. Could be OK in colder weather. Not so good in the summer. I guess it may be better to haul the guitars in the Expedition unless it's just a short ride. Dang.

I don't know about a Boxster but the trunk as area in a Cayman stays pretty cool with the AC on. I wouldn't trust a gig bag to protect a D-45V however.

I know what you mean. I would only use it if I could make sure it was tucked safely from harm. The Cayman has airflow from the cabin, I think, where the Boxster does not. I guess the reality would be to stick to the Expedition. Good environment and room for everything.

 

One of my Martins is a Pete Seeger Baritone 12-string. I have to use our SUV to carry it around.

I love Suhr's as well and have a couple: A Suhr Standard Pro in Bengal Burst and a Modern T Select in Aqua Blue Gradient. Both great guitars!

 

Been thinking of a standard pro or JM model custom build, possibly in Sonic Blue spec'd as a strat in terms of dials etc but with a 14" or 16" radius fretboard (roast maple neck / fretboard). The slight downscale body size in both appeals.

It's actually an AC-15 with an Alnico Blue in it, sounds amazing! I've got a Gretsch Tennessee Rose and Rickenbacker 360/12-V63 that go great with it too. I used to play George in a popular Beatles tribute band...

I've gone completely digital now, plugins into Ableton for better or for worse.

 

While I have a few amps, I now go digital when I play live too, using a HeadRush Pedalboard directly into the mixer and the entire band uses in-ear monitors too. I currently play in an all-original rock band as well as an INXS tribute band so those keep me busy!

 

Saw INXS in '88 in Glasgow, good band back in the day. I still play out occasionally, electronica / improvised kinda thing so keep myself busy with keys and triggering samples alongside the guitar. Using Guitar Rig 6 and Archetype Plini / Tim Henson plug-ins for guitar. The Strandberg comes in useful with the low B for covering ground once you get used to the neck profile.
