Guitar cases that will, and won't, fit in a Boxster trunk

Ok lets get past the expected and practically obvious news. An acoustic guitar hard-case won't ever fit in the trunk. None of mine, down to a small-bodied Martin 000, will get in there. However there is room in the assumetrical trunk to get the headstock end of a soft case or a smaller fitted electric case in the left rear corner (left hand drive US, 2021 718 base model).

Here is a Reunion Blues "Continental" RBG-1 electric guitar gig bag (It will accept up to a 14-1/2" lower bout/body width. Big enough for a Tele, Strat, or Gibson ES339-390 small, thin-line hollow body but NOT an ES-335).

Of course wherever youre going with that electric there had better be a backline waiting since there's no room for an amp or pedalboard. Unless you try to get a Blues JR in the frunk, I haven't tried that (yet)...

I have a gut feeling that this blog is going to get very interesting......

Can we add golf club bags (with the clubs) to the topic? My guitar days are over but my knack for losing balls is cut in stone.... On one of my t's: " I hate golf, I hate golf, nice shot, I love golf!" says it all.....

I could fit my clubs in the Miata if I removed the driver and put that in first followed by the bag. Doesn't work with the boxster but my wife doesn't play golf so the bag rides in the passenger seat.

I don’t have a 718 Boxster but I do have a 987. I, personally, would be hesitant to put a decent guitar, particularly an acoustic, in the rear trunk considering it gets pretty warm, pretty quickly. It’s where I put takeout when I want it to stay warm for the drive home.

Dogs and guitars are what a 911 is for, IMO.

ps...I do have some junky guitars specifically for hostile environments.

Saw INXS in '88 in Glasgow, good band back in the day. I still play out occasionally, electronica / improvised kinda thing so keep myself busy with keys and triggering samples alongside the guitar. Using Guitar Rig 6 and Archetype Plini / Tim Henson plug-ins for guitar. The Strandberg comes in useful with the low B for covering ground once you get used to the neck profile.
