PTS will resume in October. So you will need to find an allocation that a late 2023 or early 2024 build date. Now that is assuming they bring PTS back for the 718, which could not happen.

 

My dealership told me that they received confirmation from Porsche that PTS will not come back for the 718. I have a MY2024 allocation for October.

I was hoping that I received incorrect information and they do in fact bring it back.

 

No PTS, along with a bunch of other stuff, e.g., no deviated stitch or seat centers, no PDLS+ (been gone for a little while). It is a bummer, especially given that they've increased the base price by $5000 for 2024 model year cars while winnowing down the cosmetic options by a significant amount.

 

PTS was discontinued when I was finalizing my ‘23 CGTS order. While disappointing (especially with the limited colors are available), I was probably more disappointed when when the deviated stitching was dropped. But for perspective, at least all the good performance stuff Is still there.

 

I went on the wait list for a PTS Cayman over a year ago and my dealer refunded the deposit at the end of last year. He was quite certain back then that there would not be any PTS option for the remainder of the 2023/2024 718's. So I'm "stuck" with my 2022 CGTS in Carmine Red and wearing a very nice Acid Green golf shirt, courtesy of the dealer. 😥

The discontinuation of PTS removed all chances that I would pursue an allocation for a new Cayman. If I can't select a cool color, there aren't enough differences to make it worth what it would cost to upgrade.

 

Having talked to someone who is well connected with Porsche, most options dropped, PTS, stitching etc, was down to the change in moving production to the current facility. It doesn't have the facility and/or capability to do such things. In short, the current production line is more streamlined and sticks to the off the shelf offerings.

 

I got my allocation in April this year and was also told PTS is not available, but lucky enough to still get deviated stitching. The order is placed and is now in step 3: "The manufacturing process of your Porsche is starting soon" . I am keeping my finger crossed that they will honor the deviated stitching

 

Do what I'm doing, get the 718 in a color you like, then lust after a PTS 911. Best of both worlds.

 

I've owned a couple of classic 911s, and driven several more recent versions (996, 997 and 991). Our 718s are better sports cars...

Curious if you have any update regarding the 718 since the notice/dealer communication above was published. I just received an allocation for a spyder RS, but then was disappointed to learn that it was not a candidate for paint to sample. I’m reluctant to give up the allocation in hopes that a paint sample allocation could come again in the future. Considering the model is about to run out, I am trying to figure out what to do with my current allocation.

 

The UK Configurator does not include PTS. I suspect that this is part of the run out phase and the uncertainty about demand once the EV is available.
I'll bet the Boxster EV does include PTS.

I have a Sapphire Blue Boxster. If I want a new one it cannot be in Sapphire Blue, so that will not be happening.

Same. We have been waiting for our allocation on a 911 GTS for 15 months and it finally came in 2 weeks ago and the PTS option is gone. We loved some of the blue options they had but now we are being told unless they bring it back before the freeze date, we are stuck with the few color options they offer. They also said it is highly unlikely to come back.. When they did offer the PTS, that option would also extend our build date by up to 6 months longer too. Arctic Grey it is I guess.

 

Not sure which PTS Blue you were considering, but the Shark Blue at $10k less looks almost as good to me on the 911 GTS on the left as the PTS Mexico Blue looks on my neighbors GT3 in the center right..

When I was hoping for a PTS allocation on a GT4, I was going after something a bit more unique.

 

I guess I got really lucky. Never, ever would have thought I'd want an orange car, and I doubt I'd have paid for PTS anyway. Never saw Lava IRL, but I couldn't resist the photos I was able to find and scored a winner right off of the "special colors" menu for '22:

From the threads I've read over various forums and here, it seems like Aventurine Green is discontinued for 718, but I was still able to use it in my configurator and the Porsche dealership here in Australia says they can get me that colour when I placed my order in December. Should I have a plan B in place for my colour or would different region has different options? Really do like the Aventurine Green, and without PTS, kinda bummed about the other colour options; maybe a Shark Blue as plan B.

 

Colors are highly subjective, and Aventurine Green is both sharp and rare in my neck of the woods. That said, I wouldn't fall on my sword if it wasn't available. Agate Grey for the same price is not too far off, although much more common. Arctic Gray is also very sharp and rare, although a more expensive "special color". Shark Blue is the biggest head turner here, short of Ruby Star. Speaking as someone who is still lamenting that I never got the chance to enrich Porsche coffers with $12,000 for PTS Acid Green, I am still very happy to have a Carmine Red equipped the way I want it and when you turn the key, all is forgiven.

Hopefully you will get Aventurine Green, but regardless, your cup is 95% full for getting an allocation, period. Good luck. 👍

I was lucky enough to get a PTS allocation in Pastel Orange for my 2023 Boxster GTS. It was a March 2023 build. It's unfortunate they stopped PTS for the Boxster and Cayman. The car looks nice in so many colors.

 

That is a gorgeous color! I was very interested in PTS when ordering my ‘23 CGTS, but it was closed before I as able to lock in. Was also locked out of deviated stitching, which was probably even more disappointing. Despite that, the car is terrific!

 

Curious as to how much that costs you?

My dealer suggested to me several months ago that I could order a GTS 4.0 in (free) white or racing yellow and then get it wrapped in Acid Green. But when I checked into it, the A+ quality installer in our region quoted $8,500+. Less than PTS, but the car would never sell for the premium price of an actual PTS. Plus it sounded like durability could be an issue with a bright color like Acid Green.

 

Confirming that I heard the same from all three Arizona dealers that PTS is not available on the 718. My Cayman GTS manual goes into production next week. Would have loved to do PTS but I am happy to get one of the last manual mid-engined 4.0l Cayman.

Spyder and GT4 RS currently allow PTS on the Configurator (US).

 

Allowing PTS on the configurator and getting an actual allocation with PTS are two different things.

 

PTS is no longer available for MY25 718's. The only vehicles current available for PTS are Taycan's, Cayenne's, and Macan EV's.
