Does anyone have a unique, personalized license plate on their 718? If so, please share.
I have never thought of "sky pilot" as a derogatory term. To me (and my fellow military chaplains) it was just a nick name.Ummmm, I thought Sky Pilot was, shall we say, derogatory in some circles. Am I mistaken? Not that I am passing judgment or even knowledgeable at all.
As I said, I probably don't know. I suppose it also depends on how one values or respects a chaplain. Perhaps some people do more than others. During my "formative years", meaning when I was old enough to start thinking on my own but neither smart enough nor wise enough yet to form good opinions independent of what people around me were saying, there was a sizeable segment of society who held little respect for anyone in a position of authority. I was not a member of that segment but it may have influenced how I thought others saw the world.I have never thought of "sky pilot" as a derogatory term. Hadn't spotted this comment before, but thats exactly what I did. Bought the plate 15 months before I actually got the car! (Oh and I might be a bit of a triathlete and runner tooIn the UK there are standard options that end in GTS.
So xx71 GTS for September registered cars. Shame 71 isn’t my birth year otherwise that would be cool with my initials at the front.
I could go backwards, but don’t want to pre age it!!
The BOX suffix is also possible, though 2x as expensive
And in light of the season (Merry Merry) Bumblebee now has it's own decor.....Hadn't spotted this comment before, but thats exactly what I did. Bought the plate 15 months before I actually got the car! (Oh and I might be a bit of a triathlete and runner too)

HAHAHA.....I immediately read it as "Six Speed, Dammit!"After a year I finally came up with one. Even found a plate that captures my Lava paint.
Enthusiasts will likely get "6SPeeD". Some will get the intended ManualTransmission". Serendipitously, the MT also stands for Montana which makes it even more fun. Those that don't get "6SPeeD" will scratch their heads wondering what it is about our fair state that I'm getting at (6 SpuDs MonTana ?????? What is this guy, a potato grower with an extremely small farm?).
I'm fortunate to have thought of "ManualTransmission". DMV requires we send a 2nd choice, and all the alternative variations of 6 speed are already taken (6speed, 6spd, 6 spd, etc).......
The model designation plus the plate now carries a perfectly centered full spec. of my car:
718 Cayman GTS 6
Speed Manual Transmission

Bonus of posting in this thread? I'm going out right now to straighten out the plate!!!!!
No, but I like the way you think
You'll be stuck with a non-sponsored generic plate design. The fancy designs hold you to only 6 letters. No, but I like the way you think
And I happen to have Montana plates, so maybe I’ll consider it![]()
My LLC resides somewhere up there, but I haven't been, yet. My neighbor with a GT3 started the trend, ostensibly to avoid having to put a front license plate on his car. You'll be stuck with a non-sponsored generic plate design. The fancy designs hold you to only 6 letters.
More to the point, though, where in MT do you live, DMT????
Not to mention MT's sales tax savings. My LLC resides somewhere up there, but I haven't been, yet. My neighbor with a GT3 started the trend, ostensibly to avoid having to put a front license plate on his car.
