I dropped my Boxster S off at the dealer for some work and was handed the key to an almost new Cayenne Hybrid, worth over £90,000.
It is a big vehicle, bigger than I like, BUT it is a remarkable vehicle. Quick enough, handles like a Porsche, not an Audi Truck. Throttle response is unimpressive and the steering a bit dull, but overall I was impressed by everything....other than the acid green brake callipers....WHY?

That Porsche know something about suspension is generally accepted and the 718 and 911 are testament to that. But to bring sports car like ride and handling to a big heavy truck is simply amazing. It isn't something I'd buy, but I'm impressed.

Any other thoughts on the big Porsche truck?

I had a similar experience the last time my Boxster was in for its annual service. Was given a fairly new (2021) Cayenne for a couple of days as the dealership was unusually backlogged.

My impressions were that it was an excellent SUV, no question. While everyone talks about how the Macan "drives like a sports car", that's certainly not the case for the Cayenne. Instead, it simply feels like a very well made and lovely to drive SUV. It was reasonably fast and had very little (if any) body roll in all the driving I did. It is a decent size with a very nice, albeit minimalist Porsche-style, interior. All and all I'd certainly own one if I were more into SUV's and had the money to spend.

I've never thought the Porschhe SUV's were particularly good looking, but they have certainly grown on me. I think the latest version of the Cayenne looks pretty good from what I've seen and has a slightly more aggressive styling. Nice car.

I love mine, not sports car handling by any means, but super luxurious, super refined and can go down a backroad at a speed which it just shouldn't be able to do! Stick it in sport plus mode and drive it with the flappy paddles and it will come alive, or push the 'fun' button in the middle of the mode switch.... Oh and I love the green calipers too :ROFLMAO:

I tried a base Cayenne a couple of years ago, very disappointing. But I do not like large SUVs, I have a Macan S which I think is big, but is infinitely more fun than the base Cayenne. I cannot speak for the upper trims which I am sure are a lot more energizing specially the hybrid and Turbos. Maxx: Your white Cayenne looks very good!

I have a Cayenne Hybrid 2022 (green acid deleted!), and it replaced a Volvo XC60 hybrid.

The electric engine helps when you accelerate, só in traffic lights it is smart enough.

It is quiet and very smooth. Corners well (have rear axle steering).

My best cayenne feature, that volvo did not have, is wireless Android auto with waze, in a large and Bright screen.

No complains yet. Really enjoy the car. Would buy it again.

2015 Cayenne S E-Hybrid specc´d the same as the Platinum edition here. Zero issues. Still feels brand new today.
It has done all weathers in Iceland for its entire life.
I love regenerative braking. Even though I drive it hard out in the countryside I barely use the brakes for normal driving, and I am still on orignal brake pads.
It is not a Cayman, which is why we have a Cayman. But in sport / sport plus, even just on battery, for a 2.5 ton vehicle it sure feels like a go-kart sometimes.
I would not trust any other vehicle to haul us and our Huskies around this rock. We will keep it under warranty for as long as we can, and I have no intention of ever getting rid of it. Especially not for the current design.

First time i got a Cayenne as a loaner it was near brand new Cayenne turbo s e-hybrid (first taught was No plz - not a buss)
I asked them how to drive since it was more or less new, nah just drive as you want

It was trying to kill me several times, it was Stupid fast !!
But the weight and the fact that is an Suv made things a bit scary on twisty roads
I had it for 2 weeks and by the end of it i was getting used to the size and weight - a thirsty beast !

I also have had the normal hybrid and a Macan S
They more more or less useless imo, but that is due to the fact that i have had Boxster/Cayman as DD for the last 15 years

The Cayenne, in the hands of a really good driver, is more of a sports car than you think. I recall a number of years ago, before Pitt Race added the South Track, One Lap came thru Pittsburgh and there was a Cayenne turning lap times about the same as I was able to do at the time in my NSX.

an E Hybrid Macan might be the sweet spot, if it existed!
For the USA I think the Cayenne is a perfect size, but for the UK where rural roads and parking spaces are smaller, it is just too big.

We entered the Porsche brand via the SUV world when we traded a 2019 Audi Q8 on a 2021 base Cayenne. I could not believe how much fun the Cayenne was and how well it handled.
Giddyup, I wanted more so went to a 2022 Cayenne E-hybrid with PASM. When you have a full charge and the ICE is warmed up, you want to warn your passengers when you
go to Sport + and push the magic little button for 20 seconds of boost.....and make sure you have the right road to do it on. Given the physical dimensions, you can't believe you
are in a Mid-size SUV with such cornering capability and massaging seats can make long journeys easier to take.
