Thank you. And I agree the magnesium wheels are the performance part of the package. But I’m not even close of enough of a driver to be remotely good where it will matter much. A few years in this car and serious seat time, maybe then.

With this being at the top of my budget, I don’t think WP makes sense for me. But I’ll def be swapping some parts out for TWL carbon parts. I need to see how bad the engine cover looks before making the decision. But I will definitely be doing the intake scoops.
I'd be careful with the intake. It's supposed to resonate at a certain frequency so the thickness and composite layup of it is designed to have a certain stiffness to meet that. No idea if aftermarket options matches that.
Gold Leaf Performance designed a GT4 RS style intake for the 4 liter engine in the GTS and GT4 and they said it took a few iterations to get that down otherwise they would get unwanted harsh sounds instead.

Ahh great call. I thought the carbon fiber was just a cover. I didn’t realize that it was also the internals.

I really need to look into this.

Yes, magnesium wheels are light and great for motorsports, but a bit fragile. VERY disappointed with magnesium wheels - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums

In motorsports, you bang wheels, you roll into the pits and get another set, no biggie.
No offense to that poster but they contact wheel to wheel to another car on a track and expect it to be just minor curb rash that's kinda ridiculous. Definitely not light contact to cause that damage. I call BS. Mag wheels in racing are able to take impacts otherwise wasted time in the pits replacing wheels. I'd say the geometry of the wheel plays a more of a factor of the failure in that case than the material.

It’s always more fun when the heart wins over the rational brain. I think I’d have done the same as you! Congratulations on the new car, will be following along.

100%. I am actually not a fan of the Alcantara and would probably option it out. There goes some of the WP money out the drain. Am I missing something? I’d love to be corrected if I am and maybe I’m missing out. I thought it was just carbon fiber hood, air ducts, spoiler, and alcantara on the inside. I don’t believe there is any performance benefit. And it’s a slippery slope cause then I’d get the magnesium wheels lol.

All joking aside, this is at the top of my budget. I thought I’d get a car like this ten years from now. But I can swing most things and will make the money back. I asked for advice because people here are great and I’m always down to hear people out.

But I don’t care about resale because regardless of what I do, the value of an RS will always be there and it’s all speculative.
I think skipping the WP is a good decision if you don’t actually like it. The question I had when I looked at your build is: why no PTS? Maybe you can’t do it with this particular allocation. But if you can, I would seriously think about it. Not only could you get exactly the color you want, but it’ll potentially bump up resale value considerably. One of one cars are VERY valuable.

PTS isn't available, unfortunately. They didn't say why, other than it wasn't. Someone mentioned it might be because this car is being manufactured before their summer vacation and they don't want any hold-ups? But I don't know how accurate that is.

I am not sure I would get it anyway. I just turned 41 and have the money to buy a car like this. But I thought I would be acquiring something like this 5-10 years from now. I have a budget in mind and "need" to stick with it.

Gimme two more days. This build will be $220k+ LOL.

Thank you. It kills me because I LOVE my 4.0 and it is more car than I ever need.

But when a generational car is offered to you below market, I would be dumb not to take it.

Is this thinking with the little or big head?

My understanding is that PTS is only available at certain times of the year, and so what you heard seems to be consistent with that. And so then I think the silver is a good choice. It’s a color that many people will find appealing down the road. The car is already a screamer and doesn’t need a showy color.

And I should’ve mentioned that I am totally with you on that carbon fiber hood. When I see it, I just think Chevy SS 1LE. Eeeek!
I appreciate your insight! I do like the carbon fiber intake and side scooped, and probably the engine cover. Some carbon fiber is good, WP is too overboard IMO. TWL might be aftermarket and in Taiwan, but they make some of the best dry carbon fiber around. It's gorgeous and high quality. Someone did mention that the intake side scoops and engine cover are integral, though, so I need to look into that. I don't want an inferior setup because I slapped on some aftermarket things for aesthetics.

I am so excited to get this car, but also kind of scared. It's a big commitment, but I am certain it will be worth it. I love my GTS 4.0 so much and it is more car than I will ever need. But this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

YOLO!!

Hey everyone. Thank you so much for your insight. I ended up taking the $0 ADM GT4 RS allocation. While I love my GTS 4.0, it was too hard to pass this up. Unfortunately, as part of the deal, I need to part with Hans (my GTS) in two weeks so they can get top dollar for him during the summer season. It is understandable on their part, considering they are one of the few dealerships that don't charge ADMs. And yes. They were fair on my trade-in, and I live in a state with sales tax credit.

This car will be seeing the track, AutoX, hitting back country roads, and making some jaunts around the city streets of Seattle. Here is my build, which locks for production in two weeks for October delivery. It is a MY25, likely the last year for production.

I need to return my car, which has awesome mods back to stock. These are for sale.
Soul Street Headers (600 miles on them) $4,000

TWL Carbon Fiber Ducktail Spoiler $1150 (I actually need a gloss black OEM spoiler. If you want to trade, we can work something out for a fair price)

GT4 intake scoops are painted in metallic ice grey. Can be repainted. GT4 logo buffed out. $300

TWL Carbon Fiber Interior Covers. Looks so much better than the cheap plastic OEM. $650

Fabspeed Carbon Fiber Exhaust Tips $500
You have to take off the clear engine cover too? Before dropping it off at the dealer?

Yea. I have a friend with a GT4 who I’m selling it to. Pains me to get rid of this car and all the amazing mods.

Personally I wouldn't do it at but if your under 60 and your into power go for it if you can afford it. That car will be worth more in a long run and you will have the best of the best. So if power is what you want and I think that is the biggest difference go for it.

Welp. I got rid of the GT4 RS idea out of my head. My GTS 4.0 kicks butt, I live in the city and like driving it around, but I also like tracking. My GTS does all those things well.

But, and it's a big BUT, I was just offered a no ADM allocation for a build next month. But they want my trade-in NOW. They offered a fair price for the trade-in. I would have no fun car for summer, take on an extra cost, and have a car that isn't as good as my GTS 4.0 for 75% of the time.

This is tough.

Sage advice is welcome.
Life is short, get what you REALLY want. When did they estimate delivery?
