I also concur with @Nosmo no food or drinks in my Porsche without exception. In fact, if it where possible I would extend that ban to at least a 5' radius.

Agree, Texas is a tad hot so our solution I place a cooler with drinks inside the front trunk (liner), and that is our compromise. If we need hydration we pull over and pop the frunk and partake.

Just seeing this post, we have something similar but looks like your solution is more stable, unless you drive your baby like the 70's Starsky & Hutch.

You're a brave man........fortunately electrical concerns in that area are minimal.
