You might want to ask them what fits. The holder can be adapted to fit many cars by bending the tongue a bit. Only problem would be if the holder was too tall to fit in the space between the center console and floor. Pretty sure the one I'm using in my 718 was purchased for a 2002 BMW. I also used it in a 2007 Cayman and a 2014 Boxster. So I've had it for 15 years, not 10 like I thought. Geez.

Response from the guy who makes them as to whether the cup holder fits the 718.

“I can't say absolutely positively for sure in all cases since I've not had
very many actually try it yet and I'm relying on limited information at this
point. But I have put one into one 718/982 myself and I've had quite a few others use the same version for the 911/996/997 in the 718/982 and they seem to be fine. I try to be relatively conservative as far as listing new models until I have a good base of information so I haven't yet. I'm reasonably confident that it will given everything that I've seen to date but don't know that I've necessarily run across all variations/differences that sometimes come up.”

Hi,

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing two of these from Mike at ultimatecupholder.com, I must complement him on the great quality of the cup holders and amazing customer service.

I purchased the Boxster version for the 718, now I still don't have the car but I believe the Boxster 986/987/981 will fit from seeing other posts and Mikes comments.

I got in touch as I live in the UK, he was fine for me to order which i did. The paypal order takes car of postage and I had to pay a customs charge of about ÂŁ12 when they got to the uk. All in all everything took about 2 - 3 weeks.

Very impressed with the overall exerience (I don't know Mike apart from buying these by the way so this is a genuine positive post) and can say it was one of the best purchases I have ever made, mainly just because he was so helpful, polite and great to buy from.

Looking forward to trying them in the car sometime in December :)

Cheers

I may never have found out about these cupholders if it were not for this excellent forum.

Got me one in a few days ago and love it! Thought it might be a bit in the way, but not at all in my '18 C base with 14 way seats.

The cupholder is not noticeable or blatant; much much better than the passenger dash holders.

Big thumbs up for letting me in on this!

I have NO clue what you guys are talking about! The "Ultimate Cup Holder" would be my wife, half nude, holding my can of Redbull in a Koozie, and tilting it in the same direction as I take turns at high speeds... Think outside the box, guys! Now, my dream is farfetched and unlikely (with the exception if this were my birthday request), I can still dream... And I've definitely proven more imaginative than most of you!
And as for Porsche2018, c'mon! Live a little. It's not like you're driving a 458 Speciale or .2 GT3-RS! Wait... Ok, I guess I can see your point...

Since my spouse and I use the Cayman for weekend and holiday pleasure drives, we keep a cooler in the frunk but she also carries a Yeti bottle with her everywhere and keeps it in the cabin. I keep a smaller plastic water bottle behind the passenger seat. The only incident we have had with spillage is in the 981 when we stopped to take photos at a state park and she left the Yeti on the floor rather than take it with her. I went back to move the car for another photos view and the Yeti tipped over with some spilled water on the carpet. She was upset but it cleaned up and was no big deal.

As for food, we carry (or stop and make) picnic lunches to eat at parks or rest stops along the way. Or we stop at interesting local restaurants!

I just could stand in no longer, so I got another one for the passenger side.

Sure works well for me. This is possible my favorite mod for the Cayman.

Side note: having a car that needs almost no mods at all is nice. Looking forward to getting first tire replacement as I slid her a bit sideways on a twisty at speed today. She handled it wonderfully. No tendency to spin at all. Pilot sports may be a nice change.

Hi All. New 718 owner. Previously was on Planet 9 and Rennlist and then found this forum which is excellent. Quick question. How are you all installing these? The center console has like a couple different plastic pieces down the side. So doesn't seem as easy as just sliding it under like the website suggests. On my old 987, it was no problem since it was one piece down the side. But the 718 is different. Any hints as to where you inserted yours? Thanks.

I moved the seat back as far as possible and just inset and push up between the seam of plastic panel and fabric. The curve of the tip is similar to inner profile of slot.

The height is just right that the bottom of wraparound holder is barely on the carpet. Once inserted, you can slide forward or back as you desire. I was able to get two in on passenger side and still have room to operate manual seat pull.
