Wonderful. At least you proved that a US boxster GTS can be coded to work. Hopefully I will find the rear settings which will be the same to allow this through the X431.

Please post the settings for the MAP view in the cluster enable. I may tackle this at some point with some help...

Thx again...
Try to look for those settings.

I got my X431 4.0 yesterday and spent my first session today. Changed the turn signal momentary flash to 4 and disabled the auto start /stop. Pretty easy.

I also was able to find the stuff for the remote key fob roof up/down but I did not tackle it today. Took good photo notes and all went as expected. After I get the remote top working - ill post it.

-Thx

Thx @718socal ! I knew I had seen it.

First things first...

The puddle lights with folded mirrors is barely worth it. There is some light which still hits the ground with the mirrors folded but you have to put up with the light reflecting off of the door. In the end - I left it configured as it does still illuminate the ground some in very dark environments.

The x431 can configure the roof remote control on a US Boxster ('23 BGTS 4.0).
The doc from here above suggests 5 items which need updating. I only needed 3. The other 2 referenced were already set. Here are my changes:

Note to use, you have to hit the unlock and release, followed by the unlock and hold to open. The same for close. Hit the lock and release followed by lock and hold for the top to close.

This also works for Porsche Entry and Drive using the door lock location on the door handle. This works to close the top by the same tap once to lock then again and hold to put the top up. I have found no way to get the top to go down from the door handle unlock.....

My experience.... FYI
A BIG thanks to all here who contributed this wealth of information.

I'd pay $100 to have someone with an X431 in the Austin/San Antonio area configure this function. Does anyone know if this change could have an impact on the car's warranty?

I would help for free but Sarasota is a bit of a drive....

I cannot imagine that warranty would be affected. Its undetectable unless you play with the key fob or put it on a PWIS and specifically look for it..... You can always undo it before service...[yea a bit of a issue without a PWIS or X431]...

I have activated all equivalent entry/drive and comfort functions in my Cayman… and Macan (I.e. windows open/close, sunroof in my Macan, etc…). No issues with warranty in either (my Macan had been out of warranty for a while, but no issues while it had warranty).

But, I have to assume this would be detectable if dealer runs a VAL report in PIWIS. But honestly, I don’t think this will be an issue. You can always ask the dealer.

In my case, I just do, I don’t ask…

It's probably worth buying one at this point.

X431 Purchase...
I look at it this way.... I installed a 'Soft Top' module in my 981 with the help of a good friend. $350 and too much labor to work under the drivers seat. I was also going to put on of those disable the automatic start - stop modules in. Much easier install but still $200+. So $600 of the $700 I spent on the X431 and NO messing up my new BGTS. I'm pretty happy with the decision at this point.

And then there is all the other stuff you can code… like Emergency Brake Lights, if you have BiXenon you can code the 4-point DRL to come on at the same time as main light… one of my favorites was increasing the number of blinking in the turn signal… etc, etc….

In addition, you can run a health report on your car and know specifically what is going on before you go to the dealer or mechanic… no fooling around with you anymore….😊

I have a X431 and am located in Dallas. Let's see if we can sync up schedules. When the ice is melted...
Thanks, I'd like to do a track day at one of the DFW area tracks sometime this year...obviously, will have to be when the ice is gone and long forgotten.

Let me know when, I'd like to join in. Maybe @Rottwagon would be gracious enough to do a little programming on my car too! I'll gladly reimburse the time.
