Thank you both, very helpful. It seems this is more of backup in case the flash takes 20-30 mins or more. Given I need to stick this in my bag on the plane to Germany, and from searching around on the forum, the CTEK MXS 5.0 + cigarette lighter adapter should do the trick.

@gts4niac, That's a battery maintainer not a charger. FWIW my battery charger's ammeter shows 10-12 amp draw when ignition on. Seem's some have successfully flashed while only using a maintainer but my guess is a good maintainer would sense the car's 10 amp draw and turn off for self-protection.

I ran MIB AIO on 2 718's (without factory Nav), a 2019 Cayman S and my 22 Boxster GTS, one only about 5-7 mins and the other took longer maybe 10-12 min. Running the '22 Map update took about 40 min in both. Good luck!

HELP. I just installed the MIB AIO on my 2022 BGTS. Everything seemed to go fine. I have NAV, etc but when I plug in my Iphone and select Carplay it connects but the PCM screen goes blank. I can hear that it's connected but the PCM screen is blank. It worked fine before the MIB flash. Any ideas?

<edit> NEVERMIND. I just rebooted my Iphone and now it works perfectly. Had me scared for a moment.

Has anyone checked to see that Fix SVM Error actually clears the error?

Backup Log says:
RCC-svm---->
Fix SVM Error (Note: The process can take some minutes...)

Everying works fine on the PCM, but when I scan using Launch X431 I get:

Diagnostic path: Automatically Search > Boxster(982) > System Selection > PCM/CDR (Communication
Management/Cd Radio)
Diagnostic Result
B201A00 PCM - software update not confirmed (000613)

I have run the Fix SVM Error a couple of times & NO luck clearing it permanently.

I have the exact same issue, even after running the “Fix SVM Error” twice. I have the same passive fault in PCM when scanning with Launch X431.

For info, I cleared the SVM Error permanently today using Launch X431 by writing a revised code created using the XOR calculator to the following item:
View attachment 48636

Your codes will be different to mine above.

Note: After writing the new code, the coded value stays as the original but the error is gone permanently.
I have installed the NAV and Android Auto on my 2022 Cayman using the AIO.

If the Backup log indicates that the SVM error has been cleared after running the SVM fix, is there any way of knowing if it has indeed been cleared without using a scan tool such as the Launch X431?

Also, has @MIB-Wiki weighed in on this? It would be nice if the SVM fix was working correctly.

My log above said it cleared, but it wasn't....

Scan tool proved the point that the fault code was still present. I don't know of any other way.
Note: A simple scan tool won't permanently clear the fault, you have to a tool that has the ability to can change codes in the control units. Launch X431 is NOT a simple scan tool.

@edub, @MIB-Wiki, I would like to thank you so much for this DIY solution. Finally I have unlocked the original navigation and Android Auto. I had CarPlay already on board but I am not an iPhone fan so this was useless to me. I was looking for possibility to unlock nav and AA for a long time. At first I was scared that I do something wrong and I will brick my unit. One of the posts mentioned problems with cars equipped with BOSE (which my car has). I read ALL posts in this topic and about an hour ago I finally decided to upgrade my 718. The installation process was very simple. After 10 minutes the job was done. My car is 2018 Cayman EU model and this solution worked like a charm. It turned out that I already had maps installed but they were locked. With your solution I was able to update the original maps to the latest 2022/2023 EU maps and unlock voice commands. BIG THANKS TO YOU GUYS!!!

BTW. Is there an option to unlock maps on the gauge cluster? I had that in Macan and I am wondering if such option is available in 718.

Yes, you can but need a cable and some coding to connect the PCM to the display.

Here is how:
@spike1x @FreshDriver Several have reported that their 718's prior tp 2020 are missing the Fakra connector on the back of the gauge cluster. so in @spike1x 's case it is probably not possible.

In other words, one should pull and check the back of the cluster for this connector before ordering the cable.

Do you mean de GPS antenna? That one use the Fakra connector.
Not the GPS . The PCM connects to the cluster with a proprietary 4 conductor high speed data cable with Fakra connectors. Pre 2020 718's do not have the female Fakra connector soldered on to the PCB on the back of the clusters so there is nothing to connect the cable to. As @Arne suggests you should pull the instrument panel to check before you go any further, I'm pretty sure you'll find it's missing on your 2018.

Question regarding Android Auto. It's my understanding that AA runs solely on the phone and casts to the screen. However, I've joined the beta and do not get the updated layout in my 718 while in my other car, I DO get the newer layout. Based on the idea that the phone is sending the data, I'm not sure why 2 different vehicles would display two different layouts. Does the AA "client" need to be updated within the head unit?

Screen size would be my first guess. How big is the entertainment screen in your other car?
