Hello,

I got my 2017 718 this past fall and so far love everything about it. My biggest issues has been the fact it doesn't have AA. Luckily I found this thread but when I try to install MIB I get an error code 146.

I formatted the SD to Fat32, extracted the MIB files to the SD, copied the metadata file to the root and extracted all patches to the patch folder.

Not sure if I'm missing something?

Mike

Are you using the All In One method? MHI2_US_POG11_K5186_1 MU1476 AIO
I had followed the instructions via MIB WIKi post on page 7 along with the instructions on the link. I copied over the patch that matches my cars version MHI1 US POG11 P3300 0809.

I haven't seen the one you listed yet and will look at it.

Wow this was a long and painful read!

First of all thank you edub , MIB-Wiki and others for contributing to the forum.

Now the job is done however the result is not as expected at all.

It looks like the install process went well and I was able to edit and change settings but there was ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGE in the PCM after reboot. No nav or maps icons visible.
The only change was wifi enabled. I can now see wifi options, can create a hot spot, can connect to that. But Track Precision still doesn't connect to the car.

Have no idea what I did wrong. I followed this instruction:

Any ideas anyone?

Question regarding Android Auto. It's my understanding that AA runs solely on the phone and casts to the screen. However, I've joined the beta and do not get the updated layout in my 718 while in my other car, I DO get the newer layout. Based on the idea that the phone is sending the data, I'm not sure why 2 different vehicles would display two different layouts. Does the AA "client" need to be updated within the head unit?
I was able to get the new Android Auto layout "Coolwalk" by enabling developer options in the AA app, then running the headunit server within the app. I imagine that since this update is still in beta, it will eventually roll out and just work by default. But if you're in the beta and haven't got the new layout, it might be worth a shot.
