UPDATE July 30: Seller will increase list price by 15% when their new line ships. If we pre-order by Aug 7, we will get current list price plus group discount

I am putting together a group buy to replace the (f)ugly PDK shifter that come as OEM. The seller is Euro Impulse Motorsports. With a group of 10+ buyers, I can get a fairly substantial discount. I already lined up 7 interests. Discount applies to purchases for 718/911 or Macan.

Some additional notes
1. The company is based in US (metro Atlanta)
2. They are launching an updated product line. The new product will arrive in early August. Updates will include
(a) colored stitching on the boot + leather knob wrap. Available stitching colors are yellow, red, white, and standard black
(b) option to combine carbon fiber/leather in the same shifter

Please respond if you are interested. I have 7 buyers lined up and can use 3 more

I have not seen the product in person, but one of my buyer in Atlanta has volunteered to meet up with the seller and review the product.

Thanks

Would they ship to the UK at my expense?

I’m assuming they’re looking at colour matching the red stitching to our Bordeaux interiors? Bright red would be a nasty clash?!

Interested, but can you first get us some ballpark pricing? Also, the pics above show “911” what should we expect will be printed there? Ideally it would be the same info on the GT4 knob. +1 on bordeaux stitching.

@Electron Translator: depending on the option that you select, the price varies a bit.

Porsche PDK Shift Knob - 911, 718. -- NOTE: I am currently able to get 20% discount off list price with 10 buyers. We have 11 now - but if we hit 15 buyers then may be it's time for negotiation with seller again.

Matt Aluminum + standard engraving (zero cost) + boot = $524 + tax + shipping
Perforated Leather + standard engraving (zero cost) + boot = $599 + tax + shipping

Custom engraving is extra $20. Some of the engraving are not listed on the site. For example "GTS" is already in the system.

You asked about GT4 knob engraving. I think there's enough people on the current list wanting that design, I have asked seller about that and hopefully bc of our group , let's see if we can also make that "standard" engraving and save us $20.

They have red white blue black yellow stitches, but no bordeaux AFAIK. Others who has the same color as yours opted for black (which is more universal) . If you are interested, I will DM you a link to join our WhatsApp group

Example of shipping cost to WA State. Idk about sales tax bc it depends on which state you are from.

@nathanr93 the new lines include the new color stitches, and we are also in negotiation to get smooth leather instead of perforated.

If you go with black stitch then the new line won’t benefit you, just the discount will
Regardless, list price will go up Aug 7

so if we pre order vs order after aug 7, the delta will be 35%

I’m personally not interested… yet (I may change my mind in the future)…. But wanted to let you know that there is someone in the Macan Forum that got one and installed it. He is very happy with it…

If you have questions, I’m sure this person will be happy to answer.

He shows his installed shifter in post # 26.

His screen name in MacanForum is BMinSFL.

I can also relay any questions anyone might have to him…

Hey,

Was just looking at this and would be interested. I have a 981, but I imagine these would be the same @paloma if you can confirm fitment that would be great!

Let me know if you think this would be possible/confirm with Euro Impulse:

Design: Metal
Engraving: Blank or PDK (if they allow)
Shift Boot: Yes
Shift Boot Stitching: Black or White (depending on how close this is with the factory Rhodium Silver interior stitch)

I have a 981 also. I reached out to EuroImpulse. Reply...
Yes it looks like the conversion will fit perfectly. However, we need to keep in mind that since you don’t have the hazard/lock buttons on your factory trim, you will need to swap that cayman badge into the button housing instead of the buttons. They are super simple to unclip and remove from underneath.

I did a little digging, and found that the factory trim piece (for the manual transmission) that holds the "Cayman" badge on the 981, and the the trim piece that holds the hazard/lock buttons on the 718 are the same part: 991-553-651-01. So, the badge on the 981 should fit the button housing supplied by EuroImpulse.

Also, the main bracket in the center console that everything attaches to (including the PDK shift plate/housing) is the same part on both the 981 and 718: 991-553-263-01. I think that tells us that the shift boot should be fully compatible with either the 981 or 718.

As far as the upgrade goes, I'm still thinking about this... I might be going with the factory carbon fiber trim kit, which includes the shifter (but not a low profile one of course)

Did you guys get your shifter knobs yet?

I reached out to a different vendor - Sportshifters - who are famous for their manual shift knobs and it turns out they also have a PDK knob in development. Their product is very high end.

Mine arrived today. Took about 15 minutes to install. Really easy; hardest part was pulling the original shift knob off (I ended up using a wrench with lots of protection between the wrench and the shift knob rotating locker piece). I love how it looks now!
